Modern Dance Club is a CCA that strives to nurture and develop versatile performers. Through dance, the CCA
aims to empower students to express their emotions and personal stories through movement and rhythm. Dance can be powerful, meaningful and rather complex. The Dance Club would like to offer the audience an unforgettable experience, something magnificent and beautiful to the eye. For the performer, dance aims to empower, rejuvenate, and invigorate the senses.

Dance is also a great CCA to keep one physically fit as dancers undergo rigorous training that trains their flexibility and strengthens their core muscles. This is the ideal CCA for those looking to test their endurance and stretch their limits.

The dance curriculum covers various Modern Dance genres. Throughout the course of the year, the dancers will learn basic ballet and contemporary dance techniques. The dancers will also learn the styles of street jazz, tap, musical and Broadway and hip-hop. Inculcating an appreciation for various dance forms is an important aspect of our dance education. This prepares the dancers for a wider range of school and external venue performances. Through the performances, dancers learn the values of responsibility, respect, teamwork and professionalism.

The philosophy of the CCA is to nurture and experience the joy of dance, be it during training, performance or competition. The dancers are committed and display undivided dedication in their dance journey in order to perform from the heart. Most importantly, everyone who joins the Dance family will eventually graduate with many cherished memories. As Martha Graham famously said, ‘Dance is the hidden language of the soul of the body.
