Achievements of the CCA
Unit Overall Proficiency Award: Silver

The AMKSS National Police Cadet Corps seeks to develop our members to be active citizens and community leaders, by working in partnership with the Singapore Police Force to fight crime and keep Singapore safe. Its training programme includes foot drill, instruction in law, general police duties, unarmed tactics, weapon training, visiting police departments, outdoor adventure training, character development, leadership training and community service. Some of the key NPCC activities in 2018 are as follows:

Inter-unit Campcraft Competition

The cadets took part in the competition preliminaries on 27 January 2018. While they did not manage to get into the finals, they completed building all the structures within the required timing of ten minutes, a feat which many other schools were unable to accomplish. This competition had certainly helped to foster team-spirit amongst the cadets, and allow them to work better as a team in future.

Anti-scam Community Outreach

The NPCC cadets participated in a community outreach to spread anti-scam messages among the residents of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 on 9 April 2018. This activity not only exposed cadets to what police officers from our neighbourhood police centres do, but also allowed our cadets to develop their communication skills and play a part in helping to keep the community safe.

NPCC Unit Camp 2018

This year’s NPCC unit camp was held from 4 to 6 June 2018, and campers went through a series of activities organised by the Secondary 3 Cadet Leaders. Campers had the opportunity to interact with one another and work together while participating in various team-bonding or endurance-training activities, such as a hike from school to Lower Peirce Reservoir Park, Air Pistol Enrichment Course, drills competition, outdoor cooking, and camp fire.

Adventure/Survival Training Camp

The Secondary 2 and 3 cadets attended the annual Area 3 Adventure/Survival Training Camp (A/STC) from 26 to 28 October 2018 at Camp Resilience on Pulau Ubin. During these camps, they were exposed to outdoor survival skills such as pitching tents and fire starting. They also honed their leadership skills through team bonding games and low rope course.
