AMKSS Red Cross Youth is a well-organised uniform group that promotes discipline and teamwork. We aim to inculcate 7 fundamental principles which are namely Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and Universality, in our cadets.
The Red Cross Youth trains in 5 core subjects known as Red Cross Knowledge, First Aid, Disaster Management, Youth Blood Ambassador Programme and Footdrill. AMKSS Red Cross Youth also do our part in raising funds for the Red Cross Society by carrying our community services and fund raising activities.
All the cadets will be given ample opportunities to participate in various activities ranging from competitions to leadership camps. These include First Aid competition and leadership camps like the Unit Instructors’ Programme, Unit Leaders’ Programme and the Red Cross Challenge, which enable them to be exposed to different leadership styles and develop a passion for volunteerism. Other than competitions and leadership camps, the cadets also participated in National Day Parade, National Camp and Cadet Modular Workshops to help them gain more experience in the CCA and also make new friends with Red Cross Youth Members from other units or other uniformed groups.
The Red Cross Youth Members are also trained to become confident leaders with a strong sense of responsibility. Each cadet would be able to work effectively under emergency or stress situation by utilising the knowledge and skills they have learned in the Red Cross Youth.
