Boys Brigade

The 64th Singapore Boys’ Brigade Company of AMKSS is a CCA that focuses on the development of the youth. Its mission is to nurture youth, based on sound values, to lead and serve. We seek to nurture a group of disciplined and well-mannered boys who seek to develop their skills further by engaging in fun and exciting activities as well as leadership developing opportunities for all to grow together.

With a team of committed teachers, officers, alumnus and student leaders, the Company has consistently achieved the High Distinction Award, which is the highest accolade for BB Companies in Singapore, for nearly the past decade. In addition, the Company has also done well in all national competitions organized by BBHQ, achieving at least Silver Award in each category.

Our Pipe Band, which is proudly sponsored by Teck Ghee Community Club, is an unique platform where we can expose the Boys to the Bagpipes and Drums taught by professional instructors from Beyond The Octave (BTO). The band is being cared for and overseen by our Pipe and Drum Sergeants, who genuinely hope to bring out the musical and talented side of the boys. The band performed for the yearly Enrolment & Dedication Ceremony, where we welcomed the new Secondary 1’s and bid farewell to the outgoing Secondary 4’s.

Once again, our Boys have the honor to commemorate this year’s edition of National Day by hoisting the National Flag with Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Teck Ghee National Day Observance Ceremony. The Pipe band was also invited to play during the ceremony, with some familiar National Day tunes to the residents. Our band was also invited to perform on several events which were organized by BBHQ, such as Anchor Conference at Marina Bay Sands (MBS).

Character Development is crucial to the planning of Company’s activities. Through BB events such as the BB National Share-A-Gift, BB Cares Project and National Purple Parade, our Boys have learnt to express compassion and empathy for the less fortunate as well as to show appreciation for the people around them.

Through these events, our Boys have had many opportunities to showcase their talent and shine, leaving behind significant memories in their BB Journey.
